I am using it on a new horse that is supposed to be a better than average barrel horse. I did not find out what the previous owners used so I thought I would try this one. He seems to like it but I have not been anywhere to try him faster. I also tried it on my older horse that HATES all bits! I usually ride him in a "stop and turn" and he resonds well. I am very upset with this purchase. I rode in the “little bit extra” bit. It left sores on the outside which is fine, I put bit guards on. But I was very upset when they were leaving sores on the inside of his lip. I’m not sure why it happened if the welding was just bad or what. And now I can’t buy a bit that I want because I spend 200$ on this one ♀️

My grand daughter has been struggling with a mare that loves hitting barrels. We have tried other bits with no luck so we thought we would try the lagniappe bit, what did we have to lose... Last weekend it made such a difference and I think the mare loves it. Her turns were smoother and my grand daughter was able to move her over if needed to make the turn. She also ran the poles and this was her 2nd time running her in competition. The first time was in July and she ran a 24.83 and this past weekend she ran a 22.084. Received this bit a week ago. Thank for the quick response. My grand daughter rides a horse that was constantly hitting barrels. I bought this bit for my strong mare, but ended up using it on a light mouth gelding. He stops at the slightest touch. We turned it upside down so the purchase was shorter and the shanks were longer. He loves it. I'm able to keep him moving and have great lateral control. I love that I can make a few adjustments and have a bit that works for several horses.

Rocko is an amazing barrel horse, he is very sensitive and hates when I put too much pressure on the bit. I am fairly light handed but still need to guide him in the turns and even a small amount of pressure made him shake his head. After a thorough vet check, dentist, Chiro, massage, farrier, you name it, I knew the bit was the issue. I discovered the Langiappe and decided to give it a try. The first time I ran him the results were incredible. I have one arena I struggle in, he runs by the barrels, can’t get his feet under him, was unbalanced and I felt like he was a runaway freight train. I happened to have an event in that arena just after getting the Langiappe and the difference was undeniable. We had the best first barrel I’ve ever had in that arena, he felt more balanced and smoother, no head shaking at all! He won the whole 1D and paid for the bit in one run. I can’t wait to see what the future holds with this bit!

I purchased my Laginape bit and as soon as I received it I rode Gus in it twice at the house just getting he and I both used to it doing slow work and just pasture riding. I went to a race on the 3rd day and just let him coast thru (I still need to work on softening my hands) but he still ran a full second faster than our fastest time in that pen. He LOVES this bit! He is one of those horses that will ride and work in anything. My reason for purchasing was to try to find the best bit that fit us both. He actually liked this bit better than anything I have tried him in and I am working on asking him softer and later than I have ever had to with anything else.
